Corticon Pre-Sales Engineer – Chicago Area
Job Description:
The Principal System Engineer (PSE) is the technical business partner of the account manager/ sales representative. The primary focus on this position should be on strategic accounts and other problematic deals involving significant revenue, complex sales cycles, large ROIs and/or strong competition.
Objectives:
- The PSE assures facilitating Corticon’s business and revenue goals by providing consistent, high quality, technical support and assistance to the sales team through all aspects of the sales cycle.
- The PSE assures facilitating the qualification of prospects and business strategies by giving support and input to the sales team.
- The PSE assures the technical leading and mentoring of the (Senior) System Engineers.
Essential Job Functions
- Work with sales representative to establish in depth specific account plans and strategies
- Analyze sales prospects' requirements and propose the best possible Corticon solution
- Create and deliver demonstrations, presentations, prototypes, POC/POV and map features/benefits of Corticon to prospects' specific needs
- Provide on-going technical and business value support to well-qualified prospects conducting evaluations (this may include training, programming of examples, third-party software integration, trouble-shooting, best-practices consulting)
- Respond to the technical and business sections of RFI/RFPs
- Provide product and solution feedback from customers
- Communicate competitive intelligence from the field
- Exchange best practices and share knowledge within SE Community
- Keep up to date with any new Corticon solutions and relevant technical and business knowledge
- Participate on meetings and conferences with customers and partners, sales and other necessary departments (e.g. R & D)
- Provide advice to sales on technical and business sales cycles
- Create value preposition based on Corticon products for customers
- Create solution concepts
- Manage and execute POC's, analyse customers ROI
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to (Senior) System Engineers
- Conduct in depth technological discussions surrounding the Corticon product
- Work closely as a trusted advisor with customers senior management (IT and business)
- Product Presentation
- Generate sale opportunities
- Manage high severity product issues
- Identify and grow sales opportunity
Requirements
- Communicates and writes in a clear and precise way
- Experience developing and presenting clear and concise product briefings and how those products relate to the customer challenges

- Proven ability to quickly understand and analyze customers' business, needs, challenges and expectations and ability to quickly identify appropriate Corticon solutions, offerings & differentiators

- Proven ability to unearth business requirements & drivers

- Able to think logically and abstractly: recognizes discrepancies, connections and structures (analytical skills)

- Ability and willingness to support and mentor (Senior) System Engineers if they have problems
- Excellent and strong presentation and explanation skills and interaction with different audiences (experienced / inexperienced, technical / business)
- Takes on responsibility for (Senior) System Engineers and offering guidance for them
- Works independently
- Displays a high level of sales and business Maturity
Education and Experience
- 10 years software pre-sales experience (or 2 - 3 years with business rules, BPM, or ERP software)
- Programming experience
- Understanding of business infrastructure technology, network architectures and distributed computing
- Knowledge of internet software development and concepts
- Experience with Operating Systems (e.g. NT, Unix; )
- Exposure with wide range of applications (e.g. ERP, CRM)
- Experience with Business Infrastructure concepts and technologies (SOA, BPM, BAM, EAI)
- Experience with Business integration software engineering or with vendors of such software
- Integration consulting experience
- Experience with Business consulting
