Action Technologies and Corticon Join Forces to Expand Human-Centric Process Capabilities
Business Rules Engine Reduces Time and Cost, Improves Quality of Business Processes
ALAMEDA, CA and SAN MATEO, CA , July 15, 2003—Action Technologies www.actiontech.com, a 20-year-old software firm specializing in managing complex human processes, today announced a strategic alliance with Corticon Technologies, the leading provider of next-generation business rules software. Gartner recently identified both companies as the leading visionaries in the Business Process Management (BPM) and Business Rules Engine (BRE) sectors, respectively. Every complex decision-process is governed by a set of general policies and procedures, known as business rules. Under terms of this agreement, Action Technologies will offer its customers the Corticon business rules engine Decision Platform to support its award-winning ActionWorks® BPM software package. This partnership will save ActionWorks customers time and money by allowing business analysts, rather than programmers, to define a set of general business rules to automate elements of high value customer business transactions without needing to develop new code, freeing up knowledge workers to apply their judgment and creativity more effectively.
Corticon's software creates business rules that can automate decisions that are currently being performed by people, supporting the rapid design and deployment of complex and intelligent business processes while minimizing costly coding and customization. Using a natural-language spreadsheet-like interface, users can create simple rules-based decision services that are guaranteed to be complete and unambiguous and that can be applied across a wide range of business processes. ActionWorks and Corticon also support Web Services, which allows process automation regardless of platform. This further reduces the time and money needed to ensure efficient integration and maximizes reuse.
