Lanner and Corticon Form Strategic Alliance to Enhance Enablement of BPM

Aligning Lanner's Simulation and Optimization Solutions with Corticon's Rules Management Solution Takes Intelligent BPM to the Next Level

Houston, TX, June 1, 2004—Lanner Group, Inc. and Corticon™ Technologies, Inc. today announced they have formed a strategic alliance to provide their technologies to companies seeking more efficient Business Process Management (BPM) solutions. Since both technologies are compatible within a service-oriented architecture, this will prove especially valuable for enterprise applications.

"The solutions Lanner and Corticon offer are both critical to an efficient BPM solution," states Scott Dixon Smith, President, Lanner Group, Inc. "It's a very natural alliance - Lanner's WITNESS technology identifies and defines what problem areas need to be addressed through simulation, and analyzes what steps or processes need to be implemented to solve the problem, through optimization. Corticon's Business Rules Management technology actually executes those changes, effortlessly, in real-time. It's truly a winning combination for any enterprise serious about intelligent BPM."

"We are very pleased to be forming this strategic alliance with Lanner Group, Inc.," states Mark Allen, CEO, Corticon Technologies, Inc. "As the premier rules management solution, we feel it is a logical extension to join forces with the premier modeling and optimization technology provider. Together Corticon and Lanner can deliver a powerful capability to develop and optimize rules within BPM, testing rules prior to implementation to fully understand their impact on key performance metrics, and even provide regular rules optimization in an operational context."

Both Lanner and Corticon are Business Partners in IBM's Business Performance Management "ecosystem," announced at IBM PartnerWorld in March, 2004. This ecosystem consists of a set of Business Partner frameworks and a software development toolkit that will enable IBM to engage with its Business Partners to provide industry-specific BPM solutions for customers in need of monitoring, analyzing and optimizing their business operations and IT infrastructure.
