SALES CONSULTANT
Corticon Technologies helps organizations make better, faster decisions
by managing the rules that drive their business. Corticon Business
Rules Management delivers a next generation business rules modeler
and business rules engine. Unlike competitive products that require
skilled programmers, Corticon's solution is as easy to use as a spreadsheet
and can be deployed as a web service. Corticon is a rapidly growing
private company headquartered in Redwood City, California.
Position Summary
The Sales Consultant is a critical component to delivering value to
Corticon's clients and partners. He/she provides technical sales support
for Corticon's Account Executives, Channel Sales Managers, and Partners.
As a Corticon subject matter expert, he/she demonstrates advanced
knowledge of Corticon's technology. This is a team player position
and will require direct interaction with resellers, distributors,
and end-user customers. This includes providing support to direct
sales personnel, channel sales personnel, and to support our distributors
and resellers. This is a San Francisco Bay area based position.
Specific Responsibilities
- Provide the technical leadership to formulate a unique value
proposition as Corticon recruits new partnerships. This includes
serving as the focal point for all technical questions, scoping
the partners application or solution for migration to Corticon,
and if necessary creating and executing initial pilots or proof
of concepts.
- Provide technical knowledge transfer to Corticon's partners.
This includes developing, leveraging, and providing technical
sales knowledge transfer on Corticon's products to our partners
so they can become effective in leveraging Corticon in their solutions.
- Provide the technical leadership to create a unique value add
in deal-specific situations with Corticon's direct sales team
and with Corticon's partners' sales opportunities. This includes
responding to RFP/RFI requests from Corticon or partners, developing
and delivering deal-specific solutions demonstrations, scoping
and developing deal-specific software configurations, and being
an integral member of the selling activities.
- Establish a solid working relationship and rapport with Corticon's
partners and internally at Corticon.
- Actively support, manage, and prioritize a formal pipeline of
pre-sales support activities.
- Keep current in all technology trends affecting the Business
Rules and Business Process Management market.
- Understand competing technologies and solutions and be able
to clearly articulate the Corticon Value Proposition.
Qualifications
To insure success, the Sales Consultant must have the following experience,
skills and qualities:
Functional Qualifications
- 5 + years of enterprise class software selling experience to
executives and with partners at Fortune 500 companies.
- Previous consulting experience implementing enterprise class
software solutions.
- Experience scoping, managing and executing customer/partner
pilots and POC's.
- Has sales experience selling enterprise software solutions in
banking, insurance, financial services, healthcare, telecommunications
or solutions such as Business Process Management, Business Rules
Management, ERP, SCM, or CRM.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Must be willing to work in a fast paced start-up environment
with multiple roles.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, persuasion, presentation
and writing skills.
- Bachelor's degree is a must.
Technical Qualifications
Sound, practical knowledge of the following technologies: J2EE (including
Java, EJB, JTA, JCA, JDBC and XML), Leading application servers (IBM
WebSphere and BEA WebLogic), Relational Databases-Oracle and DB2/UDB,
Leading middleware technologies from IBM, Microsoft, TIBCO, etc.,
Web services and service oriented architectures.
The Sales Consultant is a full time position offering a performance
based compensation plan with a competitive base salary, along with
participation in company stock option and medical plans.
